That’s Me
Ella Cotterell is an independent writer, consultant, educator, and founder. With a first-class honours degree in Psychology and a background in rehabilitation counselling, embodiment coaching, and somatic trauma-informed education, her focus is on feminist-centred social impact initiatives.
Ella has spent the last six years working in her independent practice as well as organisationally, supporting startups, not-for-profits, and government programs across the social change and impact sector. She applies a unique lens to her work, incorporating ecological, feminist, and psychological frameworks. Fundamentally, she believes that social change should not just be theorised, but embodied.
In 2024, Ella started The Reworlding, a conversational podcast series designed to speak with liberatory thought leaders engaged in advocacy work across sustainability, systemic change, economic and social justice, and gender equality. The Reworlding has since evolved into a brand that draws on the creative and imaginative capabilities of the collective to dream, and take action towards, a thriving future for all.
Central to her beliefs, Ella’s work focuses on redistributing power and wealth, highlighting marginalised voices, re-establishing a sense of connection to our bodies and the earth, and seeing diversity as a crucial driver of positive outcomes. Awarded the Peace Psychology Prize for her thesis in 2018 by the University of Queensland, Ella continues to explore how empathy, activism, and systems thinking can build sustainable futures for women and their communities.
